Acclaim Telecom has provided Interactive Voice Response (IVR) application development and maintenance services since 1993. Most IVR applications have spoken menus and require DTMF (touch-tone) responses by the caller. We have developed speech applications using tools from Scansoft (www.scansoft.com) and Nuance (www.nuance.com). These tools are based on the VXML standard. Microsoft has introduced support for a competing technology (SALT) with the Microsoft Speech Server (www.microsoft.com/speech).
The candidate for this job will attend training on the Microsoft speech tools and will be our Solution Architect for Microsoft Speech Server-based services and solutions. The Solution Architect will work closely with our Marketing Manager to develop relationships with the Microsoft Speech Partner team and other solution partners. The successful applicant will be technical, creative, energetic, entrepreneurial, results-focused, comfortable giving customer presentations, able to travel, and a team player.
Required skills:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent. Transcript will be required at time of interview.
- 5+ years of software development experience, including experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, Visual Studio, Visual Basic, and Windows Server.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, from system requirement gathering through configuration control of code and bug tracking to operational support of deployed systems.
- Experience with multi-tiered web development methodologies and languages including ASP, XML, JavaScript, VBScript and DOM/XSLT, and understanding of the migration path of these technologies to the OOD and web services based .NET platform.
- Familiarity with Web Services, .NET, COM and telephony are a plus, as is some exposure to call center technologies such as CTI, ACD's and IVR. The ideal candidate will have a desire to learn new technologies quickly and will have a demonstrated ability to work alone and as a member of a team on projects of various levels of complexity.
- Ability to develop solutions that are both technical and financially viable. This person will need to think big, but start small and build with limited time and resources.
- Experience with Intervoice IVR platforms
- Speech application experience using Scansoft (formerly Speechworks), Nuance, Philips or similar.
